
Born in Purbalingga-Central Java, Budi Sutomo has been fond of culinary since he was a teen. After graduating from a vocational high school majoring in food/culinary services, he pursued his study for a degree at IKIP Negeri Semarang and his study program was food science at Faculty of Technology and Vocational Education. Two of his major interests are as always culinary and nutrition. His expertise at those fascinating worlds has been critically proven. He’s considered one of a few culinary and nutrition in Indonesia. Countless hotels and restaurants have seen his great work.
He also studied Asian culinary in Thailand. He has written more than 22 books about nutrition published by PT. Primamedia Pustaka (Group of Gramedia), Kawan Pustaka and Puspa Swara. He was the editor of culinary section on Sartika magazine and on one of the highly distributed woman magazines, Kartini.
He’s currently continuing writing books, being a contributor on Info Sehat magazine, Baby Guide, Kid Guide (Max Media-Bali), and kidney tabloid, Yagina and on www.sendokgarpu.com as well as being a columnist of Diet and Nutrition on Dokter Kita health magazine. The author is also professionally performs food stylings for numerous food products commercials on printed and electronic media.
