Thank Jennie for the insight. I've always been confused between the two. May I have your permission to post a concised version of this article on my humble blog? I'm a newbie and just hoping it will make a good start for my blog, I hope you don't mind.

[...] Do engineers need soft competency like social intelligence ? Of course ! They never work alone in such as huge engineering projects, specialy when you are the lead or chief engineer, you should manage your engineering staff, and you need the social and emotional intelligence as well, which are often overlooked as the determinant of success. Please see a good article about social intelligence by Jennie S. Bev here. [...]

@Hamlet and Jufri, thank you for your patronage. Keep smiling and make the world slightly better than yesterday.

@Nana, thank you first and foremost. I convert many things into energy: happiness and sadness, joy and grief. We can't really sure about which areas (intelligences) that we're really good in because all elements work at the same time. People are not black and white. Just accept who we are and do the best we can within our limitations.

One thing about yours truly is I do many things out of love and sincerity. I don't fret whenever my writings are not read, not appreciated, and even overlooked.

"I steer the world into my direction.
I create my inner world as it is.
The external world will follow."

Sometimes I envy where you get those energies and ideas to write Jennie, but then I realize, you are typically a hardworking person, and I am not.
In fact, I am not socially intelligent either referring to your post here. :(
