Onno W. Purbo Blogging

Well, this morning breaking news came: Onno W. Purbo will go blogging on Asia Blogging Network. Budi Putra confirmed about the deal and this time we welcome Onno W Purbo for two reasons.

But wait…

Let me introduce about Pak Onno — or sometimes also to be shortened to OWP. After his debut in Interuniversity Center in Institute Technology of Bandung, Onno was well-known for his contributions on various IT field in Indonesia. He managed various mailing lists, supported 2.4 GHz issue onto legislation, talked on many grassroot discussions — in short: public IT activism.

Now back to two reason we are glad to welcome. First, welcome to Asia Blogging Network, Pak! Your writing passion is extremely a good example of an expert on IT field to spread knowledge to grassroots. Onno’s works are outstanding, beyond of his Gigabyte storage of writings which are always offered for free to audience. Visitors of Asia Blogging will find helpful, inspiring ideas of Onno here.

Second: as far as I know, this is the first time — correct me if I am wrong, please — Onno goes blogging. We know his books, his howtos, his ideas in mailing lists, his speech, but here Onno blogs his own idea for the first time. At least, as his deal with us, it will happen in the next short time — he is agree and allows us to start republish a few of example of his works. I myself offer him to feel, to keep in touch, with blogosphere. Many people out there have tried before and start addicted!

So it will also happen to Onno W. Purbo: blogging on Asia Blogging Network.
